COUNTRY

The roots of Johnny’s country sound go back to the early singing cowboy days of the 30’s and 40’s when he and partner Lew Porter were writing for stars like Tex Ritter and Gene Autry. His most notorious western song was Academy Award nominated Mule Train, written with Hy Heath and Fred Glickman.
